Today was the first day of school, and Lucas could not wait to get there. On the way to his class, all that we could see was a Nemo backpack bouncing up and down on Lucas' back as he ran to his room. He was so cute!
This is the same school that Lucas attended for a few months last year although his readiness and enthusiasm for going to school is much improved. He loves it! It's good for him in so many ways...and good for mommy and daddy too.
Mark picked Lucas up at the end of his day, and Lucas said, "Daddy, I'm tired." So, we brought him home to nap, however, I think that he was still a bit wired from the excitement of it all. I went in to check on him and there he was sitting on his bed just staring at the door with his shoes on, his backpack on and a beanie hat on his head. What a site! I think that he thought that it was time to go back to school?? Either that or he has discovered that he likes it better there?? It was hard not to laugh. Love him!
It was a big day for our little Eva too. She, of course, was searching the house for Lucas when we came home..."Where Lucas go?" (with her hands in the air). But, her big accomplishment today was the potty. She has been initiating sitting on the potty and letting me know when she has a dirty diaper. Today, though, she actually went on the potty (#1 and #2)...twice. Yay! She was so proud of herself. Her little face lit up when daddy told her, "Good job!"
